On Wednesday evenings our community gathers for dinner and Wednesday night activities. Dinner begins at 5:45 and is typically prepared by one of our members. Guests are asked to make reservations by noon on Tuesday by calling the church office or emailing gbc@glendalebaptist.org.  Standing reservations can be made, as well.

Volunteering for a Wednesday Night Dinner
Signing up to provide a Wednesday night dinner doesn’t have to be a daunting task. Anyone can do it, whether you have past experience cooking for our Wednesday night group or for another crowd. Or, you can also choose the no-cook option and pick up a meal.  We have many meal-prep options that should fit the preference of any volunteer willing to give it a go!

We’ve made this simple guide to walk you through the sign up process, the preparation and the night itself.  Our goal is to make this easy for you. In fact, we hope you enjoy it so much that you commit to doing it again soon!

Sign Up Now!
Glendale now has an easy way to sign up via the Web.  Just visit www.SignUpGenius.com/go/4090E4EA9A82FA31-wednesday and select an available date.  If you need to make changes after you sign up (for example, change your selected date or post a menu) you can do that just by logging back on the site and making changes.

Or, you can sign up using the “traditional method” on the whiteboard in the Fellowship Hall, during a Wednesday night dinner or by emailing abby@hallstrategies.com.  If you use these methods, your name will be added to the website later as soon as we know about it.

General Details
Dinner begins at 5:45 p.m. and the choir is usually as the last group through at about 6:10.

Dinner cost is $3.50/person and will be collected by someone other than you that night.  Please try as best you can to keep the total meal cost at or below the total amount anticipated to collect that evening.

Generally, we have about 60 to 65 people (many are kids though, so please plan accordingly) eating on a Wednesday evening.  When you sign up, you’ll receive an email from Alan Green on Tuesday afternoon with the final count from those that have called or emailed him their reservations.

Please remember to buy your dinner using the tax exempt form.  Please save your receipt and complete a church payment voucher for reimbursement.  To receive a copy of the tax exempt form, please contact the church office or email abby@hallstrategies.com.

If you don’t have a key to the church, please make arrangements with Abby or the church office for access to the building.  The keys to the kitchen and the pantry can be found behind the photo of Grady (by the kitchen entrance from the Fellowship Hall).

Selecting a Menu
Anything goes as far as menu, so pick what you like.  Please keep in mind there a few (5 or so) vegetarians who eat regularly on Wednesdays, as well as a couple of people who are allergic to onions. Having a small option for these people is not required, but is greatly appreciated.
