View from the Mountain

8/1/2010

That would be Stone Mountain, GA.  Because we were informed that, though I'm extremely sure that they were born at University Hospital in Augusta, if they haven't climbed Stone Mountain, they can't actually say that they're Georgia kids.  So on a toasty July Friday, accompanied by all the Webb cousins, we climbed it.  See the smiling faces in the photo?  The breeze was nice and we could see all 5 of Atlanta's city centers from the top.  Cool.

We're now en route to the ATL to catch an 11:30am flight to St. Thomas, USVI.  We'll take the ferry over to Tortola, BVI first thing in the morning, (yep, I've got the passports in my bag), where Miel and Sharon with pick us up in the "Calypso Rose."  We've got LOTS of sunscreen in the duffle bag we'll check, along with our happy-bargain mask/fins/snorkel sets, and stocked up on underwater cameras at Wal-Mart yesterday.  We'll see who does a good job catching tropical fish in their most photogenic poses.

There's not much stowage on the sailboat, so we're packing extremely light and won't be taking computers--it will be Sunday or Monday before we're able to post again.  Then we'll be on the way to Sabbath House to finish out our sabbatical travels.  Know that we're humming "Be Wild, O My Soul," as you drink your morning coffee and begin to gather yourselves for worship today.  We love you, we miss you, and we'll be so-so-so glad to see you again!
