He said also to the man who had invited him, "When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your kinsmen or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return, and you be repaid." Luke 14:12
For twenty years, Glendale Baptist Church has been involved in addressing some of the needs of the homeless and hungry in Nashville by participating in the efforts of a nonprofit organization called Luke 14:12. Many Glendalers also know this group as the Edgehill Soup Kitchen.
A noon meal is served twice a week at the Belmont Church's fellowship hall at 1003 16th Ave. South. On the second Tuesday of each month Glendalers volunteer from noon until 1:00 PM to serve the meal. In addition to hands-on volunteer help, Glendale provides monetary support through its annual missions budget.
