- Each year, Glendale Baptist Church enthusiastically participates in Nashville's homeless ministry called Room In The Inn (RITI). Our participation involves hosting 10 homeless men at our church facility on the 1st and 3rd Friday nights of each month and on Christmas Eve.
- There are two opportunities next week for you to learn more about our Cuban friends and their life and ministry: Monday, December 19, at 6:30, Niubes will share more about the ministries of Iglesia Bautista Alberto J. Diaz. Niubes will talk with us about how our ongoing partnership can help create income for several families connected with the church's ministry and how we might use some of the funds already in their building project account to generate additional support for the building project. On Wednesday night following supper and our program time, Niubes would like to share some Cuban music with us and teach us some Cuban dance. Plan to stay for about an hour or so if you can and experience a little more of Cuban culture. All ages are welcome!
Niubes Montes de Oca Pernas, the pastor of our partner church in Santa Clara, Cuba, is here!
- The theme for Advent 2011 is "Magnificat." Luke's gospel, chapter 1:46-55, records the song of young Mary of Nazareth.
Provided to us by Room In The Inn supporters, here are a collection of recipes specifically written for serving a large group of people.
It's time to start spreading the word about Summer Communities of Service 2012! Do you know of (or are one yourself!) young adults (ages 19-30) in your communities, local churches, local seminaries or universities who are starting to think about potential opportunities for Summer 2012?
The Deacons Ministry helps provide care to the Glendale Baptist Church community, including members, attenders, and their families. We as deacons help in times of illness, family crisis, or at any time people need active care and prayer from the church.
- The worship choir welcomes you to join them for a special musical celebration of Advent. The focus for Advent will be on the "Magnificat," the song recorded in the first chapter of the Gospel of Luke in which Mary extols the greatness of God.
- On May 13, 1373, at the age of 30 and a half years, Julian, a reclusive anchoress at the church in Norwich, had a series of revelations. We know this, because Julian gives this information in the third chapter of Showings, the record of those revelations.
