Amy Mears has served in a
variety of ministry positions, including pastor, associate pastor, teacher,
youth camp pastor and director, and resort missionary. She holds a
baccalaureate degree in Spanish from Furman University, as well as the Master of
Divinity and the Doctor of Philosophy in Homiletics from The Southern Baptist
Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
For
the past nine years, Amy has been a chaplain at University Hospital, Augusta, Georgia. Her chaplaincy
endorsement is through the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF).
Professionally, she is a member of the Alliance of Baptists and the Association
of Professional Chaplains. She has served on CBF’s Coordinating Council and the
Board of Directors of Baptist Women in Ministry. Her writings have been
published in several academic and church-related publications.
